Charlene Harris' books have been made into a tv series called True Blood which I must admit that I have never seen. As a matter of fact I was so prejudiced against the show that I was refusing to read the books.
This passed summer, I found the first 4 books and 7 & 8 and decided that I would give them a try. I am glad that I did. I will not be watching the show as what I have seen is nothing like my imagination of the books. The books though are amazing. I read approximately 1 a day. The stories are excellent and wow the male figures, well let's just say it is a nice change from reading books where women are the sex symbols.
I highly recommend these books, if you have not had a chance to read them, I suggest that you run out to the library or call me and I will lend them to you.
This is my second time reading through Patrick Rothfuss' 'The Name of The Wind' and despite knowing the story, knowing where the second book heads to, I am still astounded by his writing.
I have cried and laughed, gasped and been in awe at his writing. You are sucked into this story, you want to know more and more. I am seriously hoping that this series will not end in three books despite the way that it is going.
You are dragged into this young man's life, you cheer for him, you cry for him, you only want the best for him. The mystery that is hidden from you becomes secondary to his story. There is love there is magic and there is music.
If you like Fantasy I seriously think that you must read this. No collection will be complete without the books of Patrick Rothfuss in its selection.
